Social Mission

Camden Printworks, the brainchild of Drs. Bruce Main and Tony Campolo was started in 1990 by UrbanPromise Ministries in Camden, New Jersey to create jobs and provide on-site job training for Camden's youth. Today, under private ownership, it continues and even enhances that tradition, and in addition, helps support UrbanPromise Ministries.

At Camden Printworks we value the unique story that each staffperson, customer, vendor, intern, neighbour, and stranger-in-the-wrong-place brings to us. We are proudly located in the Cramer Hill section of Camden, where we have plenty of great neighbours, and we're trying to be pretty good neighbours ourselves.

The city of Camden, New Jersey is not without its problems. Consistently ranked among America's poorest and most dangerous cities, a quick googling of Camden, New Jersey, says it all. We're excited about Camden's potential for rebirth and we want to be a part of it. So far we're trying by paying between double and triple the prevailing local wage, offering discounted health insurance to our staff, emphasizing sales on American-made and fairly-made goods, and staying on the cusp of our industry's efforts to "go green."
